Planning an elopement from another country meant months of conversations, planning across time zones and putting their trust in a photography and videography team they had never met in person.
For us, it was an absolute privilege to be part of that journey.
We know that when couples travel internationally for their wedding, there is a huge amount of trust involved. They are not simply booking a photographer.
They’re trusting us to understand their vision, help them feel comfortable and capture a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they have travelled thousands of kilometres to create.

An Intimate Family Elopement
One of the most beautiful things about Deborah & Craig’s wedding was that their twin boys were there to experience it all with them.
Sometimes when we think about elopements, we picture just two people disappearing somewhere beautiful to exchange their vows.

For Deborah & Craig, having their children there made the experience even more meaningful.

Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve: A Truly Extraordinary Setting
Kagga Kamma is unlike almost anywhere else in the Western Cape.
Located in the Cederberg region, the reserve is surrounded by dramatic sandstone formations, open plains and rugged mountain landscapes.
It’s a place where you can feel completely removed from everyday life. And that makes it an incredible destination for an intimate wedding or elopement. The landscape doesn’t simply provide a backdrop for the photographs.
It becomes part of the story.
Ancient rock formations tower above you. The mountains stretch into the distance. The landscape changes colour as the sun moves across the sky. And when golden hour arrives, the sandstone seems to glow.

As the afternoon moved towards evening, the light began to change. The sun dipped behind the sandstone formations and everything was washed in warm, golden light.
This is one of our favourite parts of photographing weddings.
The formalities are over. The nerves have disappeared. Everyone is relaxed. And suddenly there’s time to simply explore.
For Deborah & Craig, we were able to use this beautiful light to create photographs of the two of them, as well as their family, surrounded by the extraordinary Kagga Kamma landscape.
